The recipients of BC’s new rural education enhancement fund have been named.
In the Kootenay Lake School District the government has stated it will support Jewett Elementary as well as Winlaw Elementary or WE Graham, all of which are slated for closure in 2017.
Salmo Elementary was also nominated by the district but not approved for funds.
It’s now up to the board.
SD 8 Chair Lenora Trenaman says they will review all the facts.
The Ministry Of Education will make all districts aware of the application process by the end of February 2017.
