An invasive species of turtle has been spotted near Christina Lake.
Stewardship Society Senior Assistant Heather Ling says it was first seen by a motorist crossing the road near Christina Creek.
She says the red eared slider is much bigger than native turtle species and competes with them for food.
They also have the potential to spread diseases.
