Aquatic Centre to become more energy efficient

Reducing energy consumption is the main goal with this year’s annual shut down of the Grand Forks Aquatic Centre.

The pool will be closed and drained on August 22nd to install new LED lights and the ceiling lights will be replaced with higher efficiency ones.

Facilities and Recreations Manager Tom Spraddle explains the work they’ll be doing.

Spraddle says they hoped to also replace the deck this year but it wasn’t in the budget.

The Aquatic Centre will re-open September 11th.
