BC looks to prevent chronic wasting disease

A degenerative disease which can be deadly for dear, elk and moose has been found in parts of Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Biologist Cait Nelson with the Wildlife Health Program says chronic wasting disease is a low risk to spread naturally into BC through animals.

But hunters bringing back their kills from impacted areas could cause it to spread.

Hunters are asked to donate the heads of their kills for analysis.

You can view various drop-off locations at the following link.
