Interior Health has announced 243 new extended care beds but none are in West Kootenay/Boundary.
The closest are 30 beds in Cranbrook.
Residential services director Cindy Kozak-Campbell says they considered many factors in choosing the locations.
Kozak-Campbell says more beds may yet be announced for our area.
