The Federation of Canadian Municipalities is asking Ottawa to keep up its support for infrastructure projects.
Traditionally costs have been split evenly between the federal, provincial, and local governments.
But Silverton’s Leah Main, who sits on the board, says they’d like that formula changed permanently.
They’d like the province’s share kept steady so local government only pays 17 per cent.
The feds have been covering half the costs in the first phase of a national infrastructure program.
