A bear has been killed in downtown Grand Forks.
Conservation officer Dave Webster says it happened around 2 pm yesterday.
The bear ended up in a tree in front of the Grand Forks Credit Union for several hours.
After failed attempts to let the bear leave on its own, the decision was made to put it down.
It’s the first bear death within city limits this year.
