Grand Forks RCMP say they caught three impaired drivers in a single week.
In a news release, police said they responded to a two-vehicle crash at 27th Street and Central Avenue on June 12. One driver received an immediate 90-day driving ban while their vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
Two days later, officers pulled over a vehicle near the water park at 72nd Avenue and 4th Street. Police say the driver showed “heavy signs of intoxication” and was arrested. A breath test revealed the driver had a blood alcohol level four times the legal limit.
Finally, on June 17, police received reports about a vehicle lodged on a flower bed near Gyro Park. The driver failed a roadside sobriety test and received a driving prohibition.
“It is concerning when impaired drivers are on our roads in Grand Forks and it is fortunate nobody was seriously hurt,” said Sgt. Breadon Thomas. “I would like to thank the public for reporting three of the most recent incidents, allowing our officers to respond quickly.”
