Interior Health says a company with over 30 years of experience of providing service to the health care sector will be in charge of laundry.
This after IH’s decision to privatize the service and outsource it to the Okanagan.
It’s a move which is projected to save $35 million over the next 20 years.
Ecotex Health Care Linen Service will be investing in a new facility in the Okanagan and will create 90 to 100 full time jobs.
But it signals the loss of 17 jobs at the laundry service at Nelson’s Kootenay Lake Hospital.
