Nurses union concerned about hospital security

The BC Nurses Union is concerned about security in the wake of last week’s shooting at Boundary Hospital in Grand Forks.

President Gayle Duteil says nurses face violence all the time.

Interior Health’s Karen Bloemink says they’re looking into it.

A 43-year-old local man fired a gun at himself without warning.

He was in stable condition in Vancouver on Friday.

Traumatized staff are receiving counselling.
