An organization in Nelson is launching a new initiative to help seniors in their homes.
The Nelson and District Seniors Coordinating Society has been approved for $68,000 in funding from the Columbia Basin Trust which will help build the new program.
Chair Brad Howard says the funding will help them create a new program which will help Nelson’s senior population which is trending larger.
The program is the Home Help Program which will see staff preforming duties such as housekeeping , laundry, respite care and light food prep.
