A former executive director of the Kelowna Community Food Bank will run for the Green Party in Boundary-Similkameen.
Vonnie Lavers has been announced as the candidate.
She actually lives in Kelowna but says she won’t be there much longer.
Lavers says she’s never run for office before.
Lavers ran the food bank in Kelowna until 2013. She received a Governor General’s Award in 2012 for her commitment to providing healthy food to families in need.
