RDKB payroll declined in 2016

The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary’s staff payroll shrank in 2016.

In 2015 it was $8,235,573, it was $7,739,571 in 2016.

Expenses climbed by roughly $25,000 from $149,945 to $174,093.

Twenty employees made more than $100,000.

The highest paid was CAO John MacLean who made $152,952, he was the highest paid employee last year too.

The board of directors’ payroll also saw a slight decline while they incurred a small rise in expenses.

In 2015 the payroll was $325,317 but it shrunk by $1,200 to $324,072 in 2016.

Expenses also rose by roughly $1,200 to $100,461 in 2016 after being at close to the $99,000 mark in 2015.

Most directors made close to what they did in 2015.

Chair Grace McGregor was the highest earner on the board, she made $56,951.
