The Kootenay Lake School District Board has rejected a call to extend the time line for input on reconfiguration and possible closures.
Parents are concerned a deadline of the end of this month isn’t enough to fully grasp the many scenarios being considered and how they were ranked by the district.
But Board Chair Lenora Trenaman says this process has been underway for a long time and district staff are actively responding to and listening to feedback.
The school district is meeting with Parent Advisory Councils to hear their concerns and the draft plan – once ready -will also go out for further public input.
