Forty-seven black bears have been killed in the West Kootenay/Boundary this year.
They were either injured or got used to human food sources.
Sgt. Cynthia Mann with the BC Conservation Service says that’s a lot less than last year.
Mann says problem spots have been in the West Kootenay much more so than in the Boundary.
One anomaly has been a number of bears breaking into homes.
