Grand Forks residents experienced power outages last night and into this morning.
FortisBC spokeswoman Tanya Laing Gahr says equipment failure was to blame.
Laing Gahr says these sorts of failures are pretty rare.
The power was out for about five hours, coming back online around 3 a.m.
