With a full-time shelter on the way for the Boundary Emergency Transition Housing Society, what will happen to its roommate, Whispers of Hope?
The thrift store and soup kitchen has long been in operation but was handed an eviction notice in August.
Centre coordinator Melissa Shulga says although finding a new location is proving difficult, they’re not giving up.
Shulga adds that both Whispers and BETHS will be without a property come February, but Whispers doesn’t have the safety net BETHS has been provided with the proposed new shelter.
The controversy began during the summer when transient camps set up behind the rental property on the kettle river beach.
