Greyhound Proposes Solution To Declining Intercity Bus Services

Greyhound Canada is proposing a Connecting Communities Fund to ensure BC residents won’t be restricted in travel.
They say it would be a municipally-operated fund open to bidders to select the best private transportation company per area.
Regional vice president Peter Hamal says the fund would assure travellers have a means of transportation.
He adds Greyhound would compete for funding but it would be up to the municipalities and First Nations to select bidders.
Hamal also says previously proposed changes to reduce minimum stops throughout the Boundary won’t necessarily be met.
