Trail ponders public no smoking policy

The city of Trail will be looking into drafting or amending a bylaw to regulate smoking in parks.

City councilor Lisa Pasin says the city is looking to reach common ground to find something that works for both smokers and non smokers.

So council will look at other options rather than a complete ban on smoking.

Pasin would like to see certain areas of park designated as non smoking.

This means playgrounds, beaches, playing fields or concession areas would be off-limits for lighting up.
