It was a fairly quiet holiday season for the Grand Forks Fire Department, but a busy 2017 in general.
May was a particullarly bad flood season, but thankfully in following monthes there weren’t wildfires as close to Grand Forks as there have been in previous years.
Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Mckinnon says it was also a good year for volunteers.
Mckinnon also says while their training facility at the airport is an ongoing project, he’s not sure if anything will be added this year.
He adds that people seem to be driving to winter conditions more.
