The City Of Trail will leave no stones unturned when trying to come up with it’s property tax apportionment for 2016.
In preparing their budget city council has looked at a number of options which has been made more complicated by the recent decline in housing assessments in the Silver City.
Mayor Mike Martin says council would like to see if an increase to the city’s flat tax, which recognizes common city services, could help level things out.
Martin says the 4.5% fall in assessment values of residential properties has caused an imbalance across the area in terms of taxation.
