Interior Health is looking to bolster its workforce with Aboriginal employees.
VP of human resources Mal Griffin says this will help put Aboriginal patients at ease and make IH more culturally relevant.
Griffin says the goal is to ensure Aboriginal patients feel more comfortable.
He says IH has launched a recruitment strategy to meet their goals of 1,200 new Aboriginal employees by 2025.
IH says it’s important to create an environment that provides culturally appropriate care that is supportive of all patients.
