The Trail resident who has given the name to the new pipe-pedestrian bridge is honoured to have his idea – Columbia River Skywalk – chosen.
Glenn Schneider – who is a manager at Ferraro Foods – says the concept for the name was quite simple.
He says the Columbia River part was natural as the bridge spans the river. As for the “Skywalk” – the term means a structure that spans two points, which in this case is either side of the river.
Schneider is born and raised in Trail, he says the Silver City is a great place to live and enjoys a fantastic lifestyle there.
He will soon be honoured at city hall for contributing the moniker.
