The smoke residents of Trail may see at the airport is from a fire but it’s a controlled one.
The city is advising the community that a controlled burn pile, of woody debris, is happening at the southeast corner of the Trail Regional Airport, in the area of the main terminal building.
The burn is authorized by the city of Trail and the Regional Fire Services and will be monitored on a regular basis.
The wind is expected to take any smoke in a southerly direction.
