A high level of community interest in Nelson’s solar garden project has negated the need for any big investments.
EcoSave Program Coordinator Carmen Procter says the Columbia Basin Trust had interest in investing in the project to help reach it’s pre-sale target.
240 panels had been made available for investment and only 15 remain unsold.
Procter says the procurement process for the solar equipment has finished and now the focus shifts to the procurement process of site preparation.
The goal is to have the solar array built at Bonnington by the end of May.
