City Councillor Takes Resolutions to AKBLG

Three resolutions made by a Grand Forks city councillor where brought to the Association of Kootenay Boundary Local Governments convention recently. One of the resolutions made by Councillor Beverly Tripp was to have a bi-weekly judge stationed in Grand Forks. She says it would be important for the community.

Other resolutions were to have additional crown council lawyers, and for the substantial likelihood for conviction requirement to be lowered to probable likelihood. Tripp says she worked closely with R-C-M-P Sergeant Jim Fenske.

She says at least one of her resolutions made it to the top 7 prioritised rankings.

Tripp adds that being able to identify an objective that can positively impact the community, and act on it, is gratifying.
