Spring Fling PipeBand Competition Celebrates 40th

Grand Forks Pipes and Drums hosted their 40th annual Spring Fling Pipe-Band Competition over the weekend! Hundreds of pipe-band members visited Grand Forks from Kelowna, Kimberly, Kamloops, Vernon, Shuswap, Summerland, Trail, North Okanagan, and Nelson. Coordinator Steven McGibbon says the Grand Forks Legion was generous to them, and so was the Curling Rink.

He also says competitors enjoyed their time here!

McGibbon adds that it could be a while until we see them here again.

On Saturday there was a parade on Market Avenue followed by mass-band performance which competitors were judged on. There were multiple other competitions throughout the weekend, and Kakalmalka, also known as Vernon was the winning pipe-band.
