Water-Levels Continue To Rise in The Boundary

It’s a bad week for stormy weather, as river levels are still rising in the Boundary. The Kettle River saw another 20 to 22cm today, while the number of evacuation orders remains basically the same at about 2950 people and 1471 properties. Regional District of Kootenay Boundary Emergency Operations Centre Director Chris Marsh explains.

However crews are assessing more at-risk properties. He adds an estimated 100 individuals returned to the Ruckle area.

Plenty of sandbags were filled at the Grand Forks airport as a result.

RDKB Emergency Operations Centre Chief David Reid says BC Wildfire Service crews have been a big help.
