Hazard Notifications Dispersed, Canadian Armed Forces Arrive

Another update from the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary’s Emergency Operations Centre. Currently 1472 addressees are on evacuation order, which is about 2944 individuals. RDKB EOC Director Chris Marsh says hazard notifications have also been given out.

Hazard notifications are to warn of increased risk and do not operate in the same manor as evacuation orders or alerts. Marsh also says an Advanced Planning Unit from the Canadian Armed Forces is in town!

About a dozen military personal arrived in Grand Forks today and 91 more are expected tonight. Volunteer Coordinator Jessica Mace says the volunteers have been amazing.

River-levels are expected to rise another 20 to 40cm in some areas across the Boundary, peaking tomorrow afternoon.
