Castlegar is ready for the upcoming changes to the city’s waste collection model.
This from Chris Barlow, the Director Of Transportation and Civic Works, who is speaking ahead of next week’s delivery of new bear-resistant garbage containers to residents.
He says feedback on the upcoming changes from residents has been positive.
The bins are being paid for from the city’s move to a two week waste collection model which should reduce attractants for bears and cut back the amount of waste heading to landfills.
The service changes take effect April 4th.
