An unexpected situation during this morning’s Grand Forks City Council meeting.
About an hour-and-a-half into Committee of the Whole, Mayor Frank Konrad called for a recess. Minutes after leaving council chambers, Konrad was escorted to ground-level on a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance.
There’s no word yet on how he’s doing. Council is scheduled to meet again tonight at 7:00pm for their regular meeting. Another councillor will be filling in as acting mayor.
