The Nelson Committee On Homelessness will be taking part in a Canada-wide initiative.
On April 13th there will be a point in time count, or PIT count, to gather information about the extent and nature of homelessness in the Queen City.
Ann Harvey is the coordinator for Nelson’s PIT count.
She says they will be checking parks, back alleys and makeshift shelters as well as known hangouts like the Salvation Army.
She hopes this will provide a snapshot as to how many people are experiencing homelessness.
