The City Of Nelson is gearing up for the next part of its biggest infrastructure project.
With a grant application in with the province and reserve funds to handle its cost share, the aim is to complete the second phase of the Hall Street corridor next year.
It will create a vibrant gateway to the lakeside waterfront next to the Prestige Hotel.
But Mayor Deb Kozak says just like the first phase this is essentially a project about pipes under the ground.
But the job will be daunting as it involves digging up Hall Street where it meets the highway and the rail line and that road is the only access to Lakeside Drive.
