RDKB issues more Evacuation Alerts

There’s more evacuation alerts in the Boundary, bringing the total number of addresses impacted to 80. On Tuesday evening, the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary issued evacuation alerts to 25 properties in the Lynch Creek area of the Granby River Valley. The Lynch Creek fire is estimated to be 50 hectares in size and is suspected to be person caused. The Lynch Creek Forest Service Road is now closed for public access.

The Toronto Creek wildfire 12 kilometres north of downtown Grand Forks remains about 11 hectares in size and is 70 per cent contained. 22 addresses are on evacuation alert in the area.
