Boundary Set to Level 3 Drought

Boundary residents are urged to start conserving water, as The Provincial Government has set a level 3 drought for the South Boundary region. This as serious Spring flooding and a lack of precipitation since early July is putting eco-systems and fish stocks at risk. A level 3 drought calls for voluntary water-use reductions from all surface and ground water users, however the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development may regulate water if reductions aren’t sufficient enough to maintain flows above critical levels. Angling closures are also in effect until August 25th on the Kettle River system.
