A man barricaded himself inside a building, downtown Grand Forks on Wednesday morning. Just before 9:30AM Grand Forks RCMP was called to a building under construction in the 7300-block of 2nd Street. This as someone was reported to have been trying to access a boarded-up area of the building.
RCMP say the man barricaded himself inside and refused to come out. Just after 1:00pm, RCMP say the situation came to an end when a 56-year-old man exited the building and was arrested without incident.
RCMP say they had assistance from additional specialized resources including the Emergency Response Team and a Crisis Negotiator.
2nd Street was closed and a nearby building was evacuated as per precautions during negotiations.
