Could Transitional Housing be coming to 2nd Street in Grand Forks? BC Housing has a project overview available online that describes Supportive Housing at 7382 2nd Street, which is where the Grand Forks Hotel once stood.
The plan describes 48 self-contained homes with on-site supports for residents. BC Housing and the operator would lead in resident selection to ensure an appropriate mix of residents with the right support services live there. Woman, men, seniors and people with disabilities are welcome but will have to sign a program agreement and pay rent.
The project is in the public engagement stage and assures the community will help develop an operating strategy. The date of completion is set for Winter of 2019/2020 and a community open house could take place this Winter once planning is underway.
