A reminder that being careless with your open burning this spring could be costly.
This from Karlie Shaughnessy, the Fire Information Officer with BC Wildifire Service.
She is calling for people to be careful while conducting their spring burns.
Shaughnessy says to always ensure enough people, tools and water are on hand to control any fires, not to burn if it’s windy and never leave a fire unattended.
She says the risk is particularly high for fires to spread with warmer and dryer weather coming into our area.
