The reuse centres at our local landfills will be shut down as of Wednesday.
This from Tim Dueck who is the Solid Waste Coordinator with the RDKB.
He says the centres at the McKelvey Creek and Greenwood landfills are a drain on staff resources.
He says websites like Kijiji, Craigslist or Bhubble are effective ways of getting rid of household items that may still have use – rather than dragging an old couch down to the landfill for example.
