Border Bruins See New Players, Bus & More

This weekend the Grand Forks Border Bruins hit the road in style!

A new bus for the team is sporting an all black-exterior, with team and sponsorship logos, but a vehicle isn’t the only new addition. The Bruins welcome forwards Jake Hucaluc from Revelstoke, and Brody Ryan from the Creston Valley. Defenceman Cole Jensen also joins the team after some time with the Nelson Leafs.

Head Coach John Clewlow says there’s always room for improvement. “The boys are playing hard, they’re doing things right, we could use a couple goals here and there but we are scoring goals. We need to worry about our defence I think a little bit more, and we need our goalies to step up and make some saves to help out the forwards doing their job.”

Clewlow also says they’re keeping busy! “It’s time we start putting a string of wins together showing the league what we can actually do. Off the ice look for us in town, I think we’re doing something with the Halloween Maze Tour, I think the boys are gonna be some tour guides and scare some kids.”

He adds that they’re trying to give the line-up more depth. An online contest was held last month to name the official Border Bruins mascot, and fans named him Bruno.
