Midway’s open burn ban is being rescinded. Effective noon tomorrow, October 31st, open fires no larger than 1 metre by 1 metre and 1 metre high will be allowed for plant matter only. When burning outdoors, you’re encouraged to make sure enough people, water, and tools are on hand, and never leave the fire unattended until it’s fully extinguished. You’re also advised to create a fireguard of at least 3 metres around the planned fire site by clearing any combustible material. Burning prohibited materials in an open burn or camp fire could land you a minimum $500 fine.
