Church development seeks support

A group is asking the city to support its application for BC Housing money.

Kootenay Christian Fellowship wants the city to declare their planned 42-unit affordable rental development in the downtown as a community priority.

Pastor Jim Reimer thinks the proposal at Lakeside Place is important but he compares the merits of the two.

That’s around $7 million.

This includes the Falls Street land donation by the church valued at $775,000.

They are asking the city to contribute $700,000 in associated works costs for sewer, roads and connections.
