Cannafest 2019 Changes, Announcement Draws Near

Some smoking hot new features are heading to this year’s Cannafest Music Festival in Grand Forks.

Owner and Organizer Chuck Varabioff says there will be some changes to camping this year.

“We will have a camping supervisor this year who will be in charge of all camping, the parking will have professional parking attendants to park the campers, and also this year we will have car parking. That will be right next to where the official campground is.”

Parking will cost $25 a day, and taxes and service fees are being added to current tickets prices starting Monday. Also new to 2019: The CannaBus is a shuttle set to drive festival-goers between campground sites and to the venue.

He says the venue was almost switching to their 68th Avenue property.

“The Silver Kettle which is a retirement home, out of courtesy and respect for them and the neighbours in the area, even though our new property, 15 acres, grass, fenced, it would be absolutely ideal…. We’re going to keep it where it’s been the last 4 years.”

Varabioff also says a big announcement is coming later this week.

“We finally have stuff confirmed, we have the headliners confirmed and contracted, and I’m working on the support acts right now so come Friday we absolutely 100% are announcing at minimum the headliners but it could be the entire lineup.”

The event runs August 8th to 10th at James Donaldson Park.
