Fire crews respond to early morning Moto blaze

Grand Forks Fire and Rescue started their week off tending to an RV Fire.

Deputy Rich Piché says a call came in at roughly 6AM today, September 23rd, for an RV on fire in the Motto area:

“Crews arrived and first crew to arrive got a single line on it, and got it knocked down pretty quickly. Had a second crew arrive and had two tenders, and we didn’t even need to deploy a second line….”

The newsroom asked Piché if Grand Forks Fire and Rescue is aware of concerns from residents regarding that area:

“Yep, we’re aware, we are definitely aware that there are RV’s up there and surrounded by a wood area. So we know that it’s there and we’re ready to respond at any time if we have anything up there.”

Piché says people on scene suggested there may have been an occupant inside, but after a full search nothing was found. He says crews were on scene by about 6:15AM, although no cause was able to be determined. He also commends residents for reporting the early morning-blaze.
