Grand Forks local Roly Russel was sworn in to the BC Legislature as an MLA. It was also announced a few days later that he was to become a Parliamentary Secretary for Rural
Development with the new BC NDP government.
As Parliamentary Secretary, Russell will assist the Minister of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development in carrying out their duties. He may
be asked to represent the Minister at public events, deliver speeches on behalf of the Minister, or act as a spokesperson for the government’s position.
Juice FM spoke with Russell on his posting that will place him ‘front and centre’ in BC’s rural development planning.
