Border Bruins D-man Bell off to SJHL

Grand Forks Border Bruins defenceman Brydon Bell is moving on and up to play Junior A in his home province.

The Moose Jaw product put up 17 points in 36 games as a rookie defenceman in the KIJHL and is now joining the La Ronge Ice Wolves in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for the 2022-23 season.

“I not only got to grow my skills and develop as a defenseman, but also as a person,” said Bell, who joined the Border Bruins from the Prairie Hockey Academy program. “Head coach and GM Dave Hnatiuk has a wealth of hockey knowledge, is a great mentor, and is all about working to move his players up to the next level.”

Hnatiuk is excited to see Bell move on to the Ice Wolves.

“Brydon was an absolute work horse for us on the back end and logged big minutes nightly. He played in all situations, which definitely gave him an opportunity to develop his game in all areas, all while gaining valuable playing experience,” said Hnatiuk.
