Greenwood man killed in Highway 3 crash
Property crime offences in Grand Forks rose by 16% from 2016 to 2017.
RCMP say a 30-year-old Greenwood man died in Tuesday morning’s crash on Highway 3 about one kilometer east of Midway.
They say the victim was the driver of a westbound Ford 150 that crossed the centre line on a curve and hit an oncoming unloaded logging truck.
The logging truck was driven by a 53-year-old Greenwood man who was not seriously injured.
The highway was shut down for about nine hours while the investigation and clean-up was underway.
Police say changing road conditions and driving too fast for those conditions were probably factors in the crash, but they continue to investigate along with the BC Coroners Service.
