Highway 3 is heaving just West of Rock Creek, and we’re not talking about the traffic. The pavement has began cracking, lifting, and slowly inching closer towards the centre of the road. Emcon Division Manager for Kootenay Boundary, Ken Lawson, says the conditions are shifting.
Lawson adds they can’t be sure what’s caused it but hopes the Ministry can help.
For now they’re analysing the conditions.
The slow lane is closed, and the speed limit is reduced to 30 in the meantime.
