Council Passes Tree Policy

Grand Forks City Council voted in favour of a Tree Policy Monday evening after some debate. The policy would adopt the Urban Forest Policy, which would regulate the management of trees and vegetation on City property. One of councils most noted concerns was the ratio for tree replacement. Councillor Neil Krog gives his input.

Chris Hammett says the size and age of the tree could have an impact.

Deputy Manager of Operations and Sustainability Cavan Gates says the wording was left open purposely.

Councillors Julia Butler and Beverly Tripp did not vote in favour.
