Chamber of Commerce Returns to Market Ave

The Boundary Country Regional Chamber of Commerce is happy to back in their office space. Executive Director Kendra Begg says they moved into 125 Market Avenue May 8th, had everything unpacked by the 9th, and the flood hit the next day.

Begg says operating remotely has been challenging. “There’s still construction going on, there’s little pieces that need to be finished here and there but more or less my office is set up, the internet’s going in there right now. So yeah it’s great to be back in here to be able to kind of set up properly cause [sic] functioning remotely for the last 6 months has been fairly challenging.”

She adds that now they’re back on Market Avenue the Chamber can return their operations to normal.

Begg explains. “Focus on some of the things that have kind of been dropped by the waist side that were just not priorities that we could make for the last couple of months. Updating our website and trying to get those business listings up and accurate because we know that they’re up but there’s definitely some tweaking that needs to occur. Getting the newsletters out again”

That also includes the return of Biz after Biz events, and Begg says the space will help with continued advocacy for the community after the disaster. The Grand Forks Credit Union also accepted their grant request for a custom locally made boardroom table. She adds that the office space and table will be open for other not-for-profits to have their boardroom meetings. The Chamber also plans to have a few more movie showings this Winter.
